Haleem Banane Ka Tarika | Haleem Recipe
Today, i am going to provide the method of how to make daleem/haleem at home in degi style. This daleem or haleem recipe is easy to make and tastes delicious. Furthermore, this Haleem Banane ka tarika is original and authentic. Haleem is made with different lentils, porridge, meat and some basic spices. People make haleem on various occasions, especially in Muharram. Let’s look at the ingredients list that you need to make haleem at home.

Haleem or Daleem recipe ingredients:
- Mutton 1 1/2 kg
- Onions half kg
- Garlic 125g
- Oil 1 cup
- Daal mash 1 cup
- Daal chana 1 1/2 cup
- Daal mong 1 cup
- Daal masoor 1 cup
- Porridge 1 1/2 cup
- Water around 4 jug
- Salt to taste
- Red chili powder to taste
- Turmeric powder 1 tbsp.
- Cumin coriander powder 2 tbsp.
- Cumin seeds 2 tbsp.
- Garam masala powder 1 tbsp.
- Tomatoes 8
- Lemon 3
- Green chilies 4
- Fried onions 3 to 4
For tarka:
- Onions 2
- Cumin seeds 1 tbsp.
Method of making haleem:
- First of all soak all the lentils and porridge in water, then take a big utensil and add chana daal and wheat porridge in it after that add 4 jugs of water in it and allow them to cook for 1 hour.
- Then add rest of the soaked lentils including mash, masoor and mong dal . Allow them to cook until the lentils become soft. Add salt according to your taste, 1 tablespoon turmeric powder and 1 tbsp. oil in lentils.
- Meanwhile, prepare meat masala for haleem, add 1 cup oil ,onions and garlic in pressure cooker, cook them until onions turn golden brown and then add mutton in it and cook until the color of meat changes.
- After that, add tomatoes, add salt, red chili powder, turmeric powder in it and cover the pressure cooker. let the whistle blows for 10 minutes then open the pressure cooker and add ginger paste, garam masala powder, cumin seeds, cumin and coriander powder. Cook until the oil comes at the top.
- Once the meat is ready, let it cool down and shred the meat into small pieces and remove bones . Then add this shredded meat into the lentils mixture and cook them until all the ingredients combined well.
- Finally, at the end add ginger, lemon, and green chilies in it.
- For tarka, Add onions in the oil. Cook them until they become brown then add cumin seeds and cook them for 2 minutes after that add this tarka on daleem. And serve it with lemon, ginger and fried onions on top. Delicious degi haleem or daleem is ready to serve.
- In this quantity, 30 people can easily enjoy haleem. The total quantity of daleem is 8 kg.
Note: Soak lentils for at least 1 hour before cooking them.
